In your group of two, analyze the lyrics of the song through research into it's meaning and historical context. Research is also to be done on the artist's life, and their connection to the issues represented in the song. Finally, connect the song and its meaning and context to the present day. This last portion with be opinionated, and both members should provide their insight into the question.

Research is to be done primarily through the internet, but remember that Wikipedia is considered a poor quality source. You can use it as a starting place, but no more than a portal to other sources. Find a recording or video of the song to examine the feelings behind the lyrics. Also, examine other songs by the artist to gain insight into their larger political and social beliefs.

Submit a three to five page report of your finding, with analysis. You will be given a grade as a group, so remember to share the workload equally. Both members should contribute for each question you are to address about the song and artist. Remember also to provide opinions from both members for the present day connections portion.
